You Got This, Mama!
You got this Mama!

You Got This, Mama!

Do you ever feel like God made a mistake by pairing you with your child? Don’t believe that lie! Our awesome heavenly Father has never made a mistake, and He never will.  God created you on purpose, and He divinely designed you and your child to be a pair.  He intentionally hand-picked you to be the parent of your child.  With God on your side, you got this, Mama!

When you feel like an underqualified parent (aka you don’t got this, Mama!) remind yourself of these things:

You are only able to see a small sliver of God’s perspective.

He knows everything….to include how you will mature as a parent and how your child will develop into the person God intended.

Don’t allow today’s picture of you or your child to create anxiety for you.  God’s not finished yet!

Don’t be anxious about anything! With God on your side, you got this, Mama!

We’ve all heard it, and you might have even stated that worrying about your child is just a part of being a good parent. Sister, that’s a lie straight from the pit of hell.  Philippians 4:6 instructs us to be anxious for nothing and to pray about everything.  If you have a concern, ask God to help you with it.

When you feel anxiety start to creep back in, just replace those fearful thoughts with thoughts that God is already working on it.  God has good plans for you….not plans to cause you anxiety.

Even if your feelings don’t line up with this, say out loud or in your heart: God’s on my side, and I’ve got this!

You are not responsible for the big picture.

This doesn’t mean that it’s wrong to dream or even take steps toward a larger goal for you or your child.  However, at the end of the day, you are only responsible for what God instructed you for this day.  God usually gives us one step at a time.  He wants us to trust that His goodness, mercy, and faithfulness will be more than enough for you and your child.

Take a deep breath.  Exhale slowly and know that you’ve got this, Mama!

Remind yourself of times in the past when God blessed you, and thank Him for it.  Remember that God will never leave you.  He is always for you, but He is a gentleman and will always wait for you to invite Him into your heart, your life, and even your mess.

Are you unclear about the next step God intends for you to take?
