How to Practically Manifest Peace in Your Life

How to Practically Manifest Peace in Your Life

Do you want more peace in your life? If you’re like most people, without hesitation, you emphatically answered, “Yes!” Here are some tips on how to practically manifest peace in your life.

…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23 ESV

Paul, who wrote a large portion of the New Testament, concluded his letters to the Corinthian church with this advice:

Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you. – 2 Corinthians 13:11

Be Joyful

In 2 Corinthians 13:11, be joyful is the first instruction in Paul’s conclusion.  It’s interesting that the third fruit of the spirit, peace, seems to depend upon the second fruit of the spirit, joy.  Unfortunately, joy doesn’t automatically dominate a Christian’s personality.  There will always be times when a Christian will need to choose joy.  This article describes ways to easily create joy and help you practically manifest peace in your life.

Continue to Mature

To practically manifest peace, Paul’s second instruction is to grow to maturity.  Ephesians 4:13 provides a bit more insight regarding this instruction.  Paul encouraged the Ephesians to grow in their faith and in their knowledge of God which would cause them to continually become more Christlike.  How can you accomplish this? Spend time with God.  2 Simple Ways to Kick-Start Your Faith will help you to build your faith and continue to mature in your relationship with God.

Encouraging Others Will Help You to Manifest Peace in Your Life

When you focus your attention on helping someone else, your mind is distracted from your problems.  Not only does it refocus your thoughts, but it will also bring encouragement to your life.  We know this to be a fact because Galatians 6 teaches that a person WILL reap what he or she sows.

Treating others with kindness, especially when they don’t deserve it, helps to create an atmosphere of joy and peace.

Live in Harmony and Peace

One of my friends says it best.  If you can’t answer yes to one of these questions, then don’t say it:

  1. Is it nice?
  2. Is it necessary?

Not all thoughts should give birth to words.

Choosing a joyful attitude, continuing to grow in your relationship with God, encouraging others, and making an effort to live in harmony and peace will help you to manifest peace in your life.  Yes, these instructions are not always easy to follow, but in the end, is disobeying any of these commandments worth throwing away your peace?

Pray about it!

Dear heavenly Father,

Thank You for revealing Your Truth to me. Help me to trust You in all things and keep my mind focused on You. Thank you for keeping me in perfect peace according to Isaiah 26:3. Thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Here’s a practical tool to manifest peace in your life.
